Mage Titans 2023: Report from the Magento Community Conference
Our colleague Marek Kubačák recently attended the Mage Titans 2023 conference in Manchester and we bring you a short report on what he experienced and what the latest trends in Magento are.

“One of you”
One of the highlights of the conference was the sense of belonging to the Magento community that permeated the entire event. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and supported. The Space 48 organizer really tried to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for everyone, regardless of their background or experience level. As a newcomer to the community, I was impressed by how easy it was to connect with other participants and how willingly they shared their knowledge and experiences.
Throughout the conference I had the opportunity to attend a number of presentations and workshops in different areas such as development, operations and business. All the speakers were very knowledgeable and passionate about their respective fields and I left each session feeling inspired and motivated.
Magical Mage-OS
One of the most interesting Magento developments I learned about at the conference was Mage-OS: an independent open source fork of Magento that is making huge strides in ecommerce. Mage-OS takes the Magento platform to the next level by adding new functionality and features. And because it is a “real” open-source project, nothing stays hidden (sorry, Adobe).
Connecting with Hyvä
Hyvä works closely with Mage-OS to provide a fast and flexible front-end solution for Magento stores. While Mage-OS is open-source and free, Hyvä is a paid product that provides additional features and support for online stores running on Magento. Mage-OS and Hyvä offer an exciting new way to create fast and responsive online stores.
One of the main advantages of Hyvä is its performance. By using modern front-end technologies and a lean architecture, Hyvä is able to deliver faster page loads and better overall performance than traditional Magento front-ends. This can lead to a significant improvement in user engagement, increased conversion rates and improved search engine rankings.
Future challenges
However, it is worth noting that Mage-OS will need to find or develop its own front-end solution in the future as the current Magento Luma template becomes obsolete. If it sticks to the vision of creating a modern, flexible and scalable e-commerce solution that is free and can be used by anyone, then it should be open-source.
Finally…
Overall, the Mage Titans 2023 conference was an excellent event that showcased the latest developments in Magento and e-commerce while providing an opportunity to connect with the community. I can highly recommend attending this conference in the future. You will learn a lot, make valuable contacts and leave feeling inspired about the future of e-commerce.
