November 2021 – Another Google Core Update
On November 17, 2021, Google began rolling out the November 2021 core update that finished some two weeks later. What was it about and what happened?
Many websites might have noticed that their ranking has more or less dramatically changed. It could have been a coincidence, but we wouldn’t bet on it at that time. We must get used to it, because the ranking today is much more dynamic than before, when it remained fixed for several months. It is also more responsive to content and links.
The November update seems more volatile than the updates that Google introduced in June and July. Mobile rankings experienced even more shifts and that will probably not change in the future. That is why it is very important to concentrate on the mobile performance and experience of your sites.
Another thing that we’ve noticed is the focus on the quality of content. Content is still the king and if you concentrate on creating good content and performance of your sites (both mobile and desktop), you may come from these core updates as a winner.
Are you negatively affected?
Do you feel that your sites were hit by the core update? These basic updates are wide-ranging and address, among other things, general problems with quality. There is no need to panic, maybe it is time to have a look at your sites from a more complex view and reveal what needs to be improved.
Google made in the past some suggestions that you may consider doing if you’re hit. Don’t expect any specific steps, that will help you get your previous position. You should also take into account that despite the negative impact on the ranking, there might be nothing wrong with your sites. However, you’d better take a look at Google’s list of questions to consider if your site is hit by a core update to make sure you’re not missing anything out.
